Apoptosis and necroptosis are types of programmed cell death (PCD) that are characterised by distinct features and functions. Understanding these differences is important to develop effective treatment approaches for cancer and other diseases.

Necroptosis, a form of regulated cell death, has gained significant attention recently due to its involvement in various physiological and pathological processes. Necroptosis is a specialized form of programmed cell death that is tightly controlled by various signaling pathways, mediators, and immune responses. Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling pathways have been identified as critical regulators of necroptosis in macrophages. Understanding the underlying molecular mechanisms that govern necroptosis is essential for unraveling its role in immune responses and disease pathogenesis.

The Single Doman Antibody (sdAb) from camelid, also known as VHH antibodies, provides cutting edge technology for antibody research. sdAbs lack light chains and are smaller and more stable than conventional antibodies, yet they possess fully functional antigen-binding capability. Due to its size (a mere 15 kDa), a single domain antibody is adept at reaching otherwise inaccessible epitopes.

ProSci has developed SARS-CoV-2 pseudoviruses with a luciferase reporter allowing researchers to quickly build their own neutralization and inhibitor interaction assays. These pseudoviruses have been engineered to lack the appropriate coding for the virus to replicate.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus which causes COVID-19 is comprised of 10 open reading frames (ORFs). Many of these create structural proteins and nonstructural proteins, but several of them generate unique proteins named after the ORF they are encoded by. Inhibiting some of these SARS-CoV-2 proteins which contribute to viral immune evasion could lead to faster clearing of SARS-CoV-2 infection by improving the hosts antiviral systems. ProScis catalogue has antibodies and recombinant proteins to many of the SARS-CoV-2 ORF accessory proteins.

There has been significant interest in the role of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and its ligand programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) in modulating immune responses. The emergence of PD-1-targeted therapies has revolutionized cancer treatment, leading to a better understanding of immune checkpoint mechanisms and their uses in various research fields. This paper offers a review of significant publications on the use of PD-1 antibodies in cancer, immunology, and Alzheimers disease research. We will highlight the importance of PD-1 antibodies in resolving the complicated interactions between the immune system and pathological conditions as well as their potential to create novel therapeutic approaches.

Inflammasomes are protein complexes present in the cytosol that activate Caspase 1 (CASP1) leading to induction of pro-inflammatory cytokines and pyroptosis (caspase-1 mediated, inflammatory cell death). Understanding the activation, and in contrast the inhibition of inflammasome triggering events can lead to the development of more effective treatments for disorders and diseases including autoimmune diseases, obesity, and infectious diseases.

Their unique characteristics give them the capability to bind to multiple epitopes of a single antigen. This makes polyclonal antibodies a flexible and reliable tool for researchers and developers of diagnostic assays. ProSci’s Custom Antibody Services Team has over 24 years’ experience in designing, developing, and purifying polyclonal, monoclonal, and recombinant antibodies.

Poxviruses are viruses from the Poxviridae family. This family of viruses includes several types of infectious viruses that affect both humans and animals. One of the most recognized viruses in Poxviridae is smallpox which has been mostly eradicated with the use of vaccines, while other strains such as the monkeypox virus have been spreading in countries around the world. Many viruses in the Poxviridae family have genetic similarities which allows many of the same research tools to be used on multiple viral species.
