Further Information

Additional Names:
Ornithine decarboxylase, ODC1
Application Note:
This recombinant protein can be used for biological assays. For research use only.
Background:
Ornithine decarboxylase (ODC1) is an enzyme which belongs to the Orn/Lys/Arg decarboxylase class-II family. ODC1 is the rate-limiting enzyme of the polyamine biosynthesis pathway which catalyzes ornithine to putrescine. The activity level for the enzyme varies in response to growth-promoting stimuli and exhibits a high turnover rate in comparison to other mammalian proteins.

Supplied as a 0.2 um filtered solution of 20mM TrisHCl,150mM NaCl, pH 8.0. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 ug/ml.
