Long Description:
Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 16 (CXCL16), also known as SR-PSOX, is a transmembrane protein that facilitates uptake of low density lipoproteins by macrophages, resulting in foam cell formation.1 CXCL16 is found in liver tissue2 and influences the uptake, subcellular localization, and cytokine profile induced by D oligonucleotides.3 CXCL16 may play a pro-inflammatory role in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), particularly Crohn's disease.4
