How to order with Caltag Medsystems

Finding the reagents you need for your research should be easy. But navigating a website with over 700k products can get tricky. In this guide, you'll find the information you need to make your search as easy as possible.

What you can find

With over 50 suppliers of specialised life science reagents, we likely have what you need. Our products include antibodies, assays & kits, proteins, peptides, molecular biology tools, biochemicals, biological samples, and cell culture tools.

We are licenced by the Human Tissue Authority to procure, process and store human tissue in the UK and we also specialize in delivering CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) restricted products to the UK. We are here to help, contact us for more information on importing human biological samples or CITES restricted products.

How to find the product you need

  1. Use the Search Function:
  • Type the product name or product code at the top of our website.
  • Bear in mind that our search only finds exact matches. If you don't find what you're looking for, try using different search terms.
  1. Narrow your search using filters:
    • The filters can be found on the search result page or at the top of the Products page.
    • You can narrow down your search by product group, application, supplier…
      Product Filters
  2. Contact us:
    • Even after filtering it is possible that the number of products is way too large to sort. Get in touch and we will do the digging for you.

We also operate through Advanced (Science Warehouse), Scientist.com, Amici Procurement, and Zageno. If you are unable to find Caltag Medsystems products on your purchasing platform, please get in touch and we will resolve this as soon as possible.

All orders are subject to our standard terms and conditions of sale, unless otherwise stated.

Remember, all our products are for Research Use Only.

We are open 5 days a week 9 am to 5 pm from our offices in Buckingham.

Most people reach to us via email. Write to the team at office@caltagmedsystems.co.uk and you will receive a response in less than 24 hrs (and typically within a few hours).

You can also call us on 01280 827460 and talk to a person instantly.

Or send a message on our webchat and get through to a real person immediately, zero bots!

How to order

The prices on our website have no additional charges on top for shipments within mainland UK, not even shipping, so the price you see is the price you pay. Although, just like any other rule, there are some exceptions (only 0.14% of our total catalogue!) that are clearly marked on the product page. For shipments to Northern Ireland and Isle of Man there is a £45 shipment charge per order and for the Republic of Ireland the shipping charge is €107 per order.

Knowing the final price straightaway means you can always send a purchase order directly to office@caltagmedsystems.co.uk using the prices on our website.

However, it is worth submitting an enquiry especially if ordering multiple items from the same brand, as you may be eligible for a multi-buy discount.

There are 3 different ways you can submit an enquiry and obtain a quote from us:

  • Use the Contact us button that you can find on all product pages. It will take you to a form to submit an enquiry on that product.
  • You can also build a shopping basket with multiple products and submit an enquiry this way. We will usually return to you with a quote within a few hours.
  • get in touch with our office team at office@caltagmedsystems.co.uk

Payment Terms

We carry out credit checks to identify any potential risks, but most of our customers are on 30 days payment terms after the first payment has been made.

If your organisation is struggling to meet your financial commitments, please get in touch with us and we can put the most suitable arrangements in place.

Shipping your order

Once we have received your purchase order, we place the order with the relevant manufacturer.

We keep a limited amount of stock on site, and our home brands CellsDivision and Cytomark are available for immediate shipment. However, it is most likely that your order will have to be shipped from the manufacturer to us before being forwarded on to you.

To keep costs low we will batch your order with others for that manufacturer and submit our orders to manufacturers weekly.

Lead times

The typical lead times for our products can be found on the product page. These are best estimates, but you can get in touch to receive a more accurate delivery date.

If there is a delay with delivery from the supplier for any reason, you will be contacted immediately.

Receiving your order

When we receive your order from the supplier, we perform several quality checks to ensure it is good condition and hasn't been damaged during transit.

Your order is then carefully packaged and despatched to you using one of the major carriers.

For high value or sensitive orders, we may book a 'white glove' delivery service direct from our door to yours.

For products that are extremely time and temperature sensitive we will ship direct to you from the supplier.

We recommend you provide an email address in your purchase order. That way you will be able to receive tracking information on your shipment.

After-sale support

We continue to be here to support your research even after you have placed the order with us.

Issues with deliveries

Sadly, even the major well-known shippers are prone to mistakes. If your order has not arrived when expected, please get in touch as soon as possible so we can chase things up with couriers.

Technical support

We are in daily contact with our suppliers so if you have any technical questions or difficulties, please get in touch as soon as you can. We are committed to get to the bottom of any issues and to provide the best resolution to your technical issues.

We have robust, ISO13485 compliant feedback procedures where everything is logged and followed up with suppliers and customers. Please provide as much detail as possible as it important to understand the root cause of any issues. Our team will provide you with a Technical Support Form to fill in which is very helpful in speeding up the problem-resolution process.

When the mistake is ours, we will always own up to this and replace products immediately.

Feedback

Receiving feedback either positive or negative, is the only way of improving.

We invite all customers to provide their feedback by filling this form. We'll donate £10 to charity for every feedback form we receive. Read more on our fundraising efforts for this year here.
