Long Description:
Tyrosine kinase with immunoglobulin-like and EGF-like domains 1 (Tie-1) are novel endothelial cell tyrosine kinase receptors that are essential for vascular development and remodeling in the embryo.1 They are expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells.2 Tie-1 also have a role in the regulatory pathways of early hematopoiesis and angiogenesis.3 It is upregulated in diseases such as atherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.4
