Pluripotent stem cells can be derived from the inner cell mass of a blastocyst (an early-stage embryo), termed embryonic stem (ES) cells, or induced from somatic cells. These cells are able to self-renew and differentiate into all derivatives of the three primary germ layers: ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm.
Mesenchymal stem cells are multipotent stromal cells that can differentiate into a variety of cell types including: osteoblasts, chondrocytes and adipocytes.
Caltag Medsystems also provide a wide range of other primary cell types.
