Description:
The Immortalized COPD Bronchial/Tracheal Epithelial Cells - SV40T are a cell line derived from the bronchial/tracheal region of a patient with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). They have been immortalized using the SV40 large T antigen, which allows them to proliferate beyond normal cellular lifespan. These cells are applicable for research into the pathophysiology of COPD, drug discovery, and response testing, as well as the study of airway epithelial biology, inflammatory responses, and airway remodeling associated with COPD.
Donor History:

Growth Conditions:
PriCoat™ T25 Flasks (G299) or Applied Cell Extracellular Matrix (G422) are recommended for optimal cell culture. PriGrow X Series Medium for T0406 (TM0406) + 1% Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution (G255), 37.0°C, 5% CO2. Note: Thaw and subculture cells according to the instructions listed in the "Thawing" and "Subculturing" protocols. Culture medium should be changed to fresh media every other day, and within 24 hours of sub-culturing cells. Prolonged periods without medium change can cause cells to detach and float.
