3D-Liver Spheroid Medium

3D-Liver Spheroid Medium (3D-LSpM) is a specialized medium designed for the generation and maintenance of spheroids consisting of human primary hepatocytes and stellate cells in vitro in conjunction with 3D-liver spheroid supplement (3D-LSpS, Cat. #3D-5252). 3D-LSpM is a sterile, viscous medium which contains essential and non-essential amino acids, vitamins, organic and inorganic compounds, and trace minerals. The medium is bicarbonate buffered and has a pH of 7.4 when equilibrated in an incubator with an atmosphere of 5% CO2/95% air.

3D-LSpM consists of 200 ml of basal medium, 4 mL of 3D-liver spheroid supplement (3DLSpS, Cat. #3D-5252) and 2 mL penicillin/streptomycin solution (P/S, Cat. #0583). Note: 3DLSpS and P/S are not pre-mixed in the 3D-LSpM; they must be added separately to make the complete medium.
