Sulfo-Cyanine5.5 carboxylic acid potassium is a fluorescent dye with excitation/emission wavelengths of 673/707 nm. The inclusion of a sulfonate group enhances its hydrophilicity. The terminal carboxylic acid can react with primary amine groups in the presence of activators such as EDC and HATU to form stable amide bonds.
