2-Methyl estradiol is an endogenous metabolite of estradiol that inhibits cell proliferation and angiogenesis. The IC50 values for its effects on the proliferation of HUVEC (human umbilical vein endothelial cells) and MCF-7 (human breast cancer cells) are 3 uM and 2.39 uM, respectively.
