HVEM(14-39) is a peptide inhibitor of the B and T lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA). It binds to BTLA with a dissociation constant (KD) of 0.102 uM. By modulating BTLA and HVEM expression in T cells, HVEM(14-39) enhances activation and proliferation of T cells and promotes their transition to effector memory T cells. Additionally, HVEM(14-39) can inhibit tumor cell proliferation and induce late apoptosis (apoptosis). This compound has immunomodulatory effects, making it useful for tumor research.
