N4,N9-di-Boc-spermine is a spermine linker characterized by two Boc-protected amine groups and two additional amine groups. The Boc groups can be removed under mild acidic conditions to yield free amines. These amino groups can react with carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters, and carbonyl compounds (ketones, aldehydes). Spermidine, a polyamine, plays a role in regulating various cellular activities including cell growth and differentiation, DNA stability, and apoptosis.
