Background:
The CBRH-7919 cell line was established in 1979 by Chinese researchers from a primary liver cancer positive for alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) in a Wistar rat. The cancer was induced by diethylnitrosamine (DENA). After continuous passaging, the cells have retained the morphological characteristics of malignant epithelial-like cells and exhibit tumorigenicity upon in vitro inoculation, making it an excellent experimental model for the study of liver cancer and other related diseases. Mycoplasma, bacterial, and fungal testing results are negative. Species contamination testing confirmed the cells are of rat origin with no cross-contamination detected.
