The GBC-SD cell line was established in 2000 by Wang Zhanming et al. from a 61-year-old male patient with poorly differentiated gallbladder carcinoma. GBC-SD cells exhibit polygonal, spindle-shaped and square morphologies. The cells secrete CEA and CA19-9. The population doubling time is approximately 21.4 hours. GBC-SD cells can be xenografted into nude mice, and the resulting tumors are histologically similar to the primary tumor.
