Background:
SW620 cells were isolated from a lymph node metastasis of a 51-year-old Caucasian male and established by A. Leibovitz et al. SW620 cells mainly grow as individual small spherical and bipolar cells lacking microvilli. They synthesize only low levels of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and are highly tumorigenic in nude mice. SW620-GFP cells are a stable cell line generated from SW620 by lentiviral transduction, capable of long-term, stable, high-level GFP expression. This cell line displays low passage, high viability, and good condition, making it suitable for applications including flow cytometry and fluorescence imaging. Selection drug concentration: puromycin = 2.0 ug/mL.

Gene expression:
Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) 0.15 ng/10^6 cells/10 days; transforming growth factor alpha; matrilysin. The cells are negative for expression of CSAp (CSAp-) and colon antigen 3, negative. The cells are positive for keratin by immunoperoxidase staining. The line is positive for expression of c-myc, K-ras, H-ras, N-ras, Myb, sis and fos oncogenes.
