Background:
The DMS 114 cell line was established from a mediastinal biopsy specimen of a patient with small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC). The patient had not received prior therapy. The cells express HLA class I and class II antigens. Early-passage cultures were contaminated with bovine mycoplasma (Acholeplasma laidlawii); the contamination was eliminated before cryopreservation using A. laidlawii antiserum and kanamycin.
