Background:
The RC-K8 cell line was established in 1984 from the ascites of a patient with lymphoma. The disease was originally classified as true histiocytic lymphoma, at an advanced, refractory stage. This cell line was later reclassified as the GCB-like lymphoma subtype (germinal center B-cell type). The cells harbor a BCL6 translocation.
