Background:
The RL cell line is a human non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma cell line established in 1983 from the ascites of a 52-year-old male patient with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Treatment with protein kinase C-activating phorbol esters, including PMA and PdBu, results in significant growth inhibition in RL cells. This cell line is negative for the Epstein?Barr virus (EBV) genome.
