The CircuLex Human DJ-1/PARK7 ELISA Kit has been developed to measure the concentration of human DJ-1/PARK7 from human serum, plasma, cell lines and conditioned media.
DJ-1 (PARK7/CAP1/RS) is expressed in many cells and tissues, including the brain. Over-expression of DJ-1 can lead to cancer, whereas a loss of function can lead to neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s Disease. DJ-1 has a protective role against the oxidative stress response, which is known to be involved in the pathogenesis in Parkinson’s Disease. Furthermore, DJ-1 has also been shown to have a protective role against the aggregation of α-synuclein, a major component in Lewy Bodies present in neurons of patients with Parkinson’s Disease. More recently, DJ-1 is has been considered as a potential biomarker in the detection of early stage cerebral infarction since it’s concentration increases three hours after cerebral injury.
The CircuLex Human DJ-1/PARK7 ELISA Kit is a quantitative sandwich ELISA specific for human DJ-1. The Human DJ-1 ELISA Kit has a high sensitivity to detect human DJ-1, with an LOD of 8.4pg/mL.
