Background:
CD138, also known as Syndecan-1, is a type I integral membrane heparin sulfate proteoglycan.? As a member of the syndecan protein family, Syndecan-1 mediates multiple cellular processes, including migration, proliferation, and cell-matrix adhesion through interactions with collagen, fibronectin, and other soluble molecules?(such as FGF-basic). It is expressed on normal and malignant plasma cells, pre-B cells, mesenchymal cells, epithelial cells, and endothelial cells.
Buffer:
Phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.05% non-protein stabilizer. Dialyze to completely remove the stabilizer prior to labeling.
