In Vivo Transfection Experiment Reagents

OZ Biosciences offers solutions to improve your In Vivo Transfections or Infections.

What is In Vivo Magnetofection?

In vivo Magnetofection™ has been designed for in vivo targeted transfection and infection. This original system combines magnetic nanoparticles and nucleic acid vectors or viruses that will be retained after injection at the magnetically targeted site. The magnetic force will enhance the uptake of the magnetic particles by the target tissue and thus improve the efficiency of transfection. The nanoparticles are fully biodegradable, making this process non-toxic.

Problems you may encounter with systemic gene vector administration:

  • Lack of specificity toward the pathological site
  • The necessity of a large dose of vector to achieve high local concentration
  • Non-specific toxicity
  • Inactivation of vectors due to undesired interactions with the environment

How In Vivo Magnetofection can solve it:

  • The gene vector and nanobead complex will be retained at the target site thanks to a magnetic force allowing a specific transfection/infection
  • Nucleic acid or virus doses needed are reduced, making it a non-toxic process
  • The magnetic force will enhance the uptake of the magnetic particle complex by the target tissue, which reduces the process time of delivery and thus the inactivation of vectors by the environment
