Transduction Reagents: Virus Capture, Concentration and Conservation

For Virus Capture & Concentration

Mag4C Kits

The Mag4C Kits are based on a magnetic virus concentration technology (magnetic nanoparticles).

Mag4C magnetic nanoparticles capture viruses in culture media with 80-99 % efficiency. Once captured onto magnetic beads, viruses can be:

  • Concentrated and stored with the Storage Buffer or directly used for a downstream assay.
  • Concentrated, eluted from the magnetic beads with the Elution Buffer and stored with the Storage Buffer or used for subsequent assays.

The Conservation Buffer has been expressly designed to improve the stability of viruses upon storage conditions and is fully compatible with magnetic nanoparticles.

A Multipurpose Magnetic Separation Rack for 50, 15 or 1.5 mL tubes is also proposed. It can hold 12 standard microtubes, two 15 mL and two 50 mL tubes.

Mag4C-LV Kit presents unique properties:

  • Simple, rapid & ready to use.
  • Concentrates viruses by magnetic capture in 30-45 minutes.
  • High yield of viral capture and recovery.
  • No need to process magnetic beads before capture.
  • Avoid ultracentrifugation, precipitation and chemicals – reduces handling steps of viruses.
  • Suitable for all conditions & viruses.
  • Improve virus stability under storage conditions.
  • Ideal for cell culture infection (Magnetofection™ advantages).

Mag4C-LV  is composed of 3 reagents allowing Magnetic Capture/Concentration, Elution and Conservation of Lentiviruses and Retroviruses.

Mag4C-Ad is composed of 3 reagents allowing Magnetic Capture/Concentration, Elution and Conservation of Adenoviruses.

Viro-PEG

Viro-PEG Lentivirus Concentrator is a ready-to-use solution optimised for the capture and concentration of lentiviral particles, providing an easy and straightforward method to efficiently concentrate lentiviral particles without using ultracentrifugation.

The virus can be concentrated over 100x with an efficiency ranging from 70 to 95%.

Simply mix 1 volume of Lenticoncentrator with 4 volumes of lentiviral supernatant and spin the mixture in a standard centrifuge after the recommended incubation time.

Key benefits of Viro-PEG Lentivirus Concentrator:

  • Increase lentiviral titers by up to 100x.
  • Simple & convenient – protocol adaptable from 4 hours to overnight incubation.
  • Allow rescuing low-titer viral particles.
  • No ultracentrifugation is required.
  • Ready-to-use & non-toxic to target cells.

For Virus Conservation

Mag4C Conservation Buffer

Mag4C Conservation Buffer can be added to viral stocks for long-term storage. It allows maintaining virus infectivity even after multiple freeze/thawing cycles. Two different buffers are available depending on the virus: Ad-Conservation Buffer for adenoviruses & Lv-Conservation Buffer for lentiviruses and retroviruses.

The Conservation Buffer:

1. Preserves virus infectivity during storage.

2. Minimises the loss of viral titers during storage and freeze/thaw cycles.

3. Can be used to conserve viruses bound to Mag4C beads.
